Throw your own Pooch Parade!
What’s more fun than a parade? Children can dress up in dog-ear headbands made from construction paper. They can clap their hands, wave flags and pinwheels or toot kazoos as they parade through the halls of your school. Afterward they can sing doggy songs and eatbone shaped cookies. Woof!
To make dog-ear headbands, simply cut out strips of construction paper that are roughly two inches wide and 22 inches long. Use a variety of construction paper colors to represent the different dog breeds. Cut out ears from the construction paper and staple or tape them to each side of the headbands, then tape the ends of the headband together. Voila! Instant Dog!

Make your Own Counting Book
This book counts pugs because I happen to love pugs. Ask children to create their own counting books using something they love.
